Look For Mastery How To Look For Mastery – Ask For Referrals In the good old days, presentations were everything when pitching for a project, marketing agencies would invest the most (time, accountants, money, expertise, etc) into the presentation and a little less into the delivery of the actual services, the reason is that they were authentic, agencies would provide their services and would work from their mastery.   They did not promise more than they could deliver, and they mostly delivered more than they would have promised, and the simple reason is that they invested a lot in mastering their craft prior to offering their services. When we come across this question, particularly with clients that have had a terrible experience, we’ve understood that the client is not looking for another presentation, but rather referrals, legit referrals that have been prepared to provide a relevant testimony concerning our services.   Prepared I’m not implying soliciting positive reviews, but rather after providing excellent services, we then indirectly train our happy clients on what KPIs they can touch on when giving us a review or a response to a referral. How To Look For Mastery – Data Analytics Skills Before the explosion of the internet, companies would pitch for projects from the level of resources they already had and were able to easily account for their work, and this made the part of convincing prospective clients the only remaining hard work. It’s a lot different in this current business generation, most of these services can be offered by anyone, even individuals without any skill, experience, or acumen.   The best way to identify an expert is by listening to the detail of their critic, listening to their recommendations, and most importantly, looking out for facts and data. It’s a huge risk to take on a service provider who does not have the ability to harness data.   Data is what accurately tells a professional what the current position of your business is, and without this information there is absolutely no way that he/she can offer any productive recommendations. Having been in this field for almost 8 years, I know that agencies have their secret strategies, and they don’t want to lose that to anyone, which is true to our practice. Based on this fact, agencies will then hide behind the notion of not giving out their marketing strategies, this way they fell they don’t have to provide any basic report or interpretation of the available data. It’s important that you insist on getting even if it’s a summary of what they are able to retrieve concerning their market status. How To Look For Mastery – Distinguish Between Presentation And Results The digital marketing space is swarmed with freelancers and agencies that are not able to deliver most of what they promise, but they have presentations that promise they are. The internet, the worldwide web, social media, search engines, these are platforms that provide us with tools that can easily distort a client’s ability to discern authentic service providers from novices. Beautiful readymade artistic presentations (templates), editing software that requires almost no skill or training at all (Canva, Photoshop 2022, etc.), copy writer software, and the likes. Many agencies and freelancer are using these tools to create presentations that are better than what they really are and what they are really able to deliver. YouTube is another platform that provides novices with basic knowledge of the craft, and this is what convinces some of the novices that they can actually start selling the services. So it’s very important that you are able to discern or distinguish between a good presentation and an ability to deliver results. This is very easy when you are intentionally and consciously do it. Always ask the client for campaign goals and objectives, what do they at the least guarantee to deliver. As an agency we can set our goals high and this is absolutely fine, but it’s also important that we are realistic and transparent with our clients, and this is what you should observe in a freelancer or a marketing agency.   A professional should be able to explicitly tell you that your expectations are possible but it will take a little more investment, usually desperate service providers will take anything you offer as a client for the expectations you are looking for, but because of expertise and experience,
